My Interests: I have a great fondness for nature, my community (Brunswick) and the railroad industry, thus those three subjects have a major influence in my photograph selection. Over the years I have also found places, scenes, and architectural details that have caught my eye and they also are a growing selection of photos in my portfolio. History and historical subjects also have become an underlying theme of many of my shoots, and will likely remain so.
Artists I like: I was raised by an artist so I can't help but say I've always been a fan of my mother, Susan Moss's work on murals, canvas, eggs, and miniature paintings. Other artists I've grown fond of over the years include the fantasy artwork of Ciruelo Cabral and Jessica Peffer, the world famous and unusual sculptures of the late Raymond Barger, and the local historical-railroad lineart of Sherry Kemp.
Photographer I like: My greatest inspiration in photography is the late O. Winston Link, who perfected the art of nighttime railroad photography and blended it with an artistic and journalistic air in such a way any modern strobist would dream of being capable of.
Writers I like: I enjoy reading the fantasy works of Naomi Novik, Bryan Davis, and E.E. Knight, as well as the works of H.G.Wells and C.S. Lewis
Styles I like: In many of my photographs I try to aim for a journalistic/ documentative feel as with many of my Brunswick and railroad photographs, or if possible show a subject in a somewhat unusual angle or surreal depth which shows itself in some of my urban and other images..
Movies I like: I enjoy historical-based movies (The great Locomotive Chase, Gettysburg, Exodus, Apollo 13, Titanic, Tucker: A man and his dream), several classics (Jerry Lewis anyone?), a few silents (Chaplin and Keaton), and a number of Spielberg's movies including the Jurassic Park trilogy and his adaption of War of the Worlds.
Bands I like: Enya, Third Day, Michael Tait, Keith Green
Music I like: Gospel, Christian Rock, Classic Rock, some modern rock and celtic, "oldies", and classical.
Games I like: Tycoon games and simulators, though I rarely play games.
